Saturday Morning Mindfulness

Mindfulness is a practice in which we train ourselves to pay attention to the present moment and connect with our experiences. Connecting with the present moment helps us become aware of habitual thought patterns and start to create healthier ways of responding to life’s challenges.
This workshop is based on the scientifically proven techniques that improve physical and mental health. Mindfulness practices can help with: reducing stress, enhancing relationships, improving focus and concentration, increasing workplace effectiveness, reducing emotional reactivity, improving physical health, reducing pain, and improving symptoms of depression.
Topics covered include:
- Paying attention in an open, non-judgmental way to what we are doing and what is around us in the present moment.
- The stress reaction cycle, how stress affects our brain and our health, how mindfulness helps.
- Mindfulness as it relates to emotional intelligence, effective communication, and work stress.
- Learning and practicing mindful meditation techniques.
